Merlin wears Arthur's (and Morgana's--tiny sweater, much?) hand-me-downs.

The saga continues. Based off miakun's steampunk!AU, this drawing is the direct counterpart to steampunk!Arthur. I like this sandbox and may or may not continue playing in it, possibly depending on if more people come play with me <3

Edit: People did join the sandbox! Check out Camelot, flying!city-style, by ptelefolone. Then there's the KICK-ASS illustration of Morgana riding a KICK-ASS bike by yue_ix.

Oh man, that is fantastic. I love the wings so freaking much. They ARE PRETTY. And the band-aid on his face. Oh god. The hat is just killing me too, with the goggles and the way he's got his hands is just gorgeous. This is so perfect. I love it.

And ugh, the way his sweater is kind of just longer than his wrists kills me. I LOVE all the details in this, it's amazing.

EEEE, that is GORGEOUS. I love how you adapted his usual outfit to this theme, there's something about the way his clothes hang on him that is really recognisable. (IDK I LIKE IT) And his hands, and his expression! Beautiful work.

well, i'm slow at the difficult drawings D: anime stuff i can generally bang out (although drawing interactions--read: porn--is always difficult D:). BUT ANIME DRAWINGS ARE NOT AS SHINY AS COMICBOOK!REALISM. luckily steampunk is super anime so i don't feel obligated to make pretty, realistic pictures. this may explain why i'm enjoying the verse so much =_=

AWESOME. *___* The mechanical wings' design is so organic and gorgeous. The crisscrossing wires and notches makes it intricate yet very simple and light, which matches the whole drawing that's so light-heart yet full of details. HIS FACE, IT'S KILLING ME WITH CUTE. IT'S THE EMBODIMENT OF ":3" AND WE CAN ONLY GUESS WHO'S WINGS THOSE ARE. The straps, the rumples jeans, the kerchief, fuzzy pull, shading and HANDS. BODY LANGUAGE FTW.

I've told Mia I'd conspire with you to draw more of this universe to prompt her to write it. Should I do Morgana next as I've got a few ideas, or did you have her in list already?

hey you!! what a lovely comment from a fellow artist *__* You know, i totally have you to thank for these. you mentioned drawing in a different style in a previous comment when i was being all artist's block-y (at least, I THINK that was your suggestion o_O) and so i went a little cartoony for these steampunk drawings. so YAY \O/ it isn't making it any easier to draw realistic stuff, but at least i can just work out my drawings in anime-style for the time being.

Yay, I'm glad you like! Strangely, details are the easy part. The hard part in any drawing is body position and, even harder, faces. If you look closely I kind of mucked up the body position in here--Merlin's left arm is totally shrunken =..= HE LOOKS LIKE RANDY HARRISON (WHO I LOVE, BUT COME ON, HE HAS A HUGE HEAD)
