Awesome response on the BigBang post, guys! I'm still looking for guest reviewers (though thank you to those who've applied! Looking good, girls) so as long as I'm still working my way through the BB entries, you can always comment here if you're reading them too and have opinions about them. As for my part, I'm at six down and 17 to go :0.

I'm also watching entirely too much Weeds and, get this, I'm actually writing again. It's been MONTHS! I'm working on the Victoria's Secret AU and it's shaping up to be crackilicious, done in the same style as You Say Tomato but plottier and longer.

Trend of the week: CANDIED FICLETS. Sweet, cracky, and addictive reading. Epics these are not, but they sure are fun to snack on.

Merlin recs

A Suitable Reward and Six Months by allothi (R, ~1k total)
Summary: Arthur/Merlin. It's traditional for nobility to give back to their servants at the point of six months. Erm, according to Arthur, who probably just wants to suck Merlin's cock.
Notes: Cracky plot and woobie Arthur make for adorable fic. Read it!

When in Doubt, Hire a Professional by mithrel (PG-13, ~2k)
Summary: Arthur/Merlin, modern!AU. Merlin inherits Gaius' house, which is in desperate need of a gardener.
Notes: Like the previous rec, here's another great take on Arthur! The fic explores Arthur in an alternate universe where he never grew up royal, rich, and/or with daddy issues. The author makes him a good, simple man, and the characterization is--while incredibly "alternate"--ultimately pretty believable. Cute stuff, you can pop in and out of this AU with no skin off your nose.

Ius Primae Noctis by ifyouweremine (NC-17, 2k)
Summary: Arthur/Merlin, dub-con, canon!AU. In the conquered village of Ealdor, Prince Arthur claims his Lord’s Right to a new bride’s virginity. Merlin convinces Arthur to have him instead.
Notes: ifyouweremine makes a regular appearance on the Round-Up, but usually as the fluffiest bit of crack or porn of the bunch. So here's a change of pace--while this story still isn't something you might want to submit as your graduate thesis, it's the longest and plottiest story this week. But don't worry, she doesn't disappoint--the author's hallmark of comeplay and kink makes a welcomed appearance, so hup to and bust out the box of tissues (and I don't mean for tears, haha).


RPS recs

Lovesong by spiny (PG, ~800 words)
Summary: Bradley/Colin. Colin comes across a playlist by the name of his own on Bradley's iPod, and the songs listed are very telling.
Notes: CUTE CUTE CUTE. Love how easy this was to like: a simple plot, some well-greased dialogue, and a happy ending. That's all you need in a ficlet like this.
