I don't ship H/D; I just wanted to add a *flail* for Draco. Every time I walk past a HBP movie poster I silently cheer for him. (I don't think JKR intended for this to happen.)

HE WAS AMAZING IN THE MOVIE. All slinky and angsty and HOT.

I don't know D: somehow I became a deviant and started reading Snape/Harry! (and then I stopped reading HP fics altogether)

I loved Draco. You saw the movie, yes? I thought Tom did a really nice job. Actually, I though all the acting was incredible, which hasn't really always been the case with the younger set.

Tom did GREAT! Seriously. Loved him. I thought the acting was pretty good overall, but Ginny...I'm not even being slashfangirl!biased, but she is REALLY. BAD. In the room of requirement i thought she would sooner kill Harry and hide the body than be cutesy and smooch him. Something about her blank eyes and long hair, I think :/

OMG they have no chemistry. I was going to mention it, but I wasn't sure if you wanted this relatively spoiler-free. When she tied his shoes?! AH, DNW.

From: [identity profile] aeroport_art.livejournal.com
HAHA OMG EVERYTHING WITH GINNY ON IT WAS DNW.

me and my friend next to me were groaning (and not in the good way), holding our hands up to our faces--or facepalmed--everytime there was ginny/harry onscreen. GROSS GROSS GROSS. I mean, the cho stuff was precious, it's just like you said. NO CHEMISTRY (and ginny is just not played by a decent actress, sorry to say :( )

Oh curses, I was hoping they'd manage to do that better than Rowling did. That's book seven pretty much shot, then - I suppose she's going to remain the trophy wife. I suppose that's the danger of casting them when they were all so young. Mostly they've all turned out very well.

*waits patiently until she gets to see it*

Hey hon!

I hope we didn't spoil anything for you D: But about the acting, yeah I was totally talking about that with my friends after the movie about how dicey it is to cast young actors/actresses in an eight-blockbuster-movies contract. But yes luckily, the Trio turned out good :D Emma Watson!!!! Love her.

Oh, acting criticisms don't count as spoilers. I was concerned that Tom Felton might not be up to Draco's more substantial role in this movie, but it sounds like he did pretty well. He's not exactly had much chance to shine in the previous couple, really. But I DO hope they resolve the Draco arc better in the seventh book movies than JKR did.

Maya. Always. Her "If you've a ready mind" was written after the sixth book came out, covers first year to sixth year, and is absolutely amazing and hilarious and very touching. It's built on the premise of "what if Draco had been sorted into Ravenclaw", and watching how that affects his own development and his relationships with people around him is great fun. Plus he has a wonderful snarky inner voice.

The only disadvantage is that Maya, now she's a published author, has taken down her fanfic from the internet. She put them all in a pdf to distribute to anyone who wanted before that, though, so I have a copy I can email you if you're interested.

Ahh I would really love to read that! I loved Underwater Light but I've tried asking Maya (Sarah) and she's deleted everything already :'( Do yo think you could send it to me too? (madrat_17@hotmail.com) Pretty please with cherries on top?!

Tried, but it was rejected. Did you spell it right? Or just email me at hannah dot kilpatrick at gmail.com and I'll reply. :)

Same goes for anyone else who wants it, since I'll probably not notice any other follow-up comments - send me an emai land I'll forward it to you. Just bear in mind that she doesn't want these up on the web anymore, so they're only for privvate distribution, not to be put up on websites, and only to be associated with the name Maya, rather than her real name.

Because ILU ♥♥♥ and Draco and Severus saved the trainwreck of a movie *twitch* I went searching for some rec lists. I hope you check your comments even if they are a few days late :P

Directly-Post HBP fic recs
Some are the BigBangII fics and are just 50k+ words of epic awesomeness. Note that some are tagged 'WIP' and most likely abandoned, but a couple have been completed but reccer did not update the status.
I recommend reading Walking the Line by SilentAuror (180k+ words!!),
The Misadventures of Draco Malfoy, Ferret by sabershadowkat,
Whatever May Come by charlotteschaos

HBP-Compliant Fic recs
A longer list of fics which includes Post-Hogwarts fics, not just 'directly after' HBP. I'm pretty sure they are not spoilery for Deathly Hallows. (at least not that I recall...)

Sulky-rhino also tags them by length. Short is any fic under 10k, 10k-50k is medium, 50k+ is long (I estimated, she did not specify)

Enjoy :D

omg you said it, Draco and Sev totally saved the movie for me too. I'm glad someone agrees because I feel like everyone's LOVING HP6 and I missed out on the party D:

Thank you so much for the recs!! I am bookmarking like whoa.

HBP is my favorite out of the 7 books. (7th, was great, until..the epilogue of fail). There were sooooo many great fics written post-HBP I wished I had bookmarked them all. But a decent number of them are archived at Skyehawke.

The movie left out so many crucial bits, and added some which made me go 'WTF O.o' *coughsBurrowFirecoughs* and '-__- EW!!' *coughsGinnycoughsLavendarcoughs*. I can rant about the movie all day, because yes, it is that bad.

I forgot to mention Teen!TomRiddle. I thought the actor did a pretty fine job of portraying him. He was deliciously creepy :D! *me approves*
