I is a preview:

Ava Wilson, from my bigbang AU. She's wearing an extant Worth gown, ca. 1910.

Why can't I draw Sam or Dean this easily?? Those boys give me SO much trouble. *shakes fist*

She's so cute and stylish! I love your illustration style - and the dress is gorgeous!

(woah! Diverted by the treasure trove of Worth gowns in that link. I'm just going to drool, and I may be some time *g*)

Yayy, I'm glad you like the sketch :D Means a lot coming from such a superstar like you!

OMG that link, I totally flipped out when I saw it. It's just too bad (for Telegram, at least) that the bulk of them are late 19th c. I wanted more early 20th references! I guess Worth is more known for his Victorian stuff anyway, but still!

As for illustrating my own fic...I was totally planning on doing that anyway. Do you think we really need to ask the mods for something like that? I figure if an author wants to doodle for her own story, it's no biggie, right? *is second-guessing herself*

Depends how we are going to present this. If the pictures are scattered throughout the text (like some of last years were), then we probably should run it by the mods to have both our art in the story. If you just put a link from the story to your art, then, it wouldn't be needed.

I think it would look great with the art scattered through the text *g*

Hmmm I still can't decide how I want to format the story, what with all the footnotes and art. Dunno where to draw the line between enhancing the experience or just plain distracting from it. As of now I'm leaning towards including the footnotes and art scattered through text...was thinking about doing a plain version as well for the no-nonsense readers, but having two versions could be overkill D: I dunno, I'll have to think about it some more. Like, maybe after the story is actually written :O

You can run the art thing by the mods just in case tho. That'd be very thoughtful of you <3

The drawing is beautiful - such elegant lines. I think including your illustrations in the body of the text sounds good though. I don't think it would be distracting, if it's permitted by the mods. I think it would give a more authentic historical experience! ;-)

Meanwhile, back to writing! [Cracks whip!]

Ahaha, I totally need that whip (not in a kinky way!!). It's so hard to write at home. Maybe I need to get out of the house again. *drags feet*

Holy shit, woman. That is fucking gorgeous. Wow.
She has such graceful, delicate lines, but her face is very much the determined Ava...That dress is just fantastically beautiful, and I can't get over how much I seriously love that close-up of her face. God. I love this. Gorgeous piece.

Oh holy crap. This is gorgeous. I just adore your style, and your line weight and basically everything about how you work with a pencil. I definitely get a sense of that costume illustration style you see for film concept art. You should do this for a living, if you don't already! AMAZING, AMAZING work.

Film concept art sounds AMAZING but alas, I'm just a measly freelancer in the fashion industry D: Who knows, maybe in five years I'll actually get to use my drawings and stuff. In the meantime, pinking shears and double-stick tape are my tools of the trade.

Thanks for the lovely comment, btw :)

That's so awesome that you do work for the fashion industry! It's like there's a separate style for clothing design. I adore it. It's very classy and timeless, kind of like it's permanently set in the 50s. And you're quite welcome, I hope to see more from you soon! Or perhaps... we can talk about the costume design in SPN at some point. XD

kja wow, that is so gorgeous, hon! The details! There's a softness to her position and her body that just complements perfectly with her facial expression! I adore this -- you've got serious talent!

Oh my god. Have you ever considered working for Hollywood or as an illustrator for books? Because seriously, if I ever got my book published, I'd want artwork like yours on the cover. She's gorgeous, and the amount of work and dedication you've put into this, into the details to ensure that the era itself is glorified and portrayed accurately is astounding.

Thank you so much for sharing this.

This is the sweetest comment, evar!! *hugs* I'd love to draw for a living, but fine art isn't really my thing. I'm kind of in a parallel industry--fashion, that is. So hopefully I'll get to do some illustrations a few years down the road, or so :)
