mooyoo came over earlier tonight and we watched the episode together... I think we both concluded this was not one of their better ones D:

I think my contribution to our running commentary amounted to something like "Who IS this director? And why does he SUCK so bad?" I mean...the pacing was artsy-bad (vs artsy-good)--stilted and clunky and weird. I maintain my theory that the director is actually a photographer (hence the random snapshots of pretty colorisation and framing, like when they first drop into Bobby or Dean's dreams) who got mangled into the role of director.

The writing was just as awkward: the episode begins with bad emo!Sam, right off the bat. Dean's lone investigating was all kinds of stilted and strange. Dean's confrontation with himself started off passable, but then erupts so violently, it feels forced and contrived. And don't even get me started on Bela. Who the hell made that decision?

Another feature that is never taken well: the boys didn't have any scenes together, other than the (bad) one in the beginning and the (okay) one at the end. It just makes the show look lazy. 'Sides, veryone knows that 90% of why we watch SPN is for the dynamic between the two brothers. Take that away, and there ain't a whole lot left.

Things I did like: the plot concept of the dream worlds--too bad the execution was so shoddy. Bobby's back story. Dean being angry with John. Dean fearing that John loved Sam but not him. The occassional, gorgeous shot (I really liked the coloring inside Bobby's dream house).

Things I will like: NEXT WEEK'S EPISODE. OMG ANGSTY GOODNESS.

Whoo boy, I'm exhausted. Looooong, baaaad, hungry day at work (I didn't eat until getting home at 9PM!) :P I need sleep.

I'm sorry you didn't really like this episode and the directing was crap. I've yet to see it but I basically knows all that happens cause my friend gave me a running commentary, hah.

Next weeks, I'm going to need boxes and boxes of tissues.

yeeeah i didn't mean to sound so negative, but that episode just really rubbed me the wrong way D: the boys are still gorgeous as ever, though.

HI back!! i've been so engrossed with work and RL...like, in the worst way possible, with stress and all that crap, SO. *smooshes back* i need all the hugs i can get ;_;

It's alright, bebe. Some other episodes rub me the wrong way too. I heard they were extra pretty in this one. I can't wait to watch it. :)
