SF nightlife

Somebody tell me why clubs close at 2AM in San Francisco? 2AM! Freaking 2AM!! Last night was such a bust, and we were totally ill-equipped for after-party hunting :[

Anybody in the area have good suggestions of where to go? We hit up Zebra Lounge and it was good, other than a) the exorbitant drink prices and b) they closed at 1:45AM, wtf.

I've been to Arrow Bar on 6th, which I enjoyed thoroughly. Popscene is fabulous but it's only Thursday nights :P. Sake Lab on Broadway sucks. Sooo that's about the extent of my SF nightlife prowess. Suggestions please!

Lol, yeah I know some places do close later. Guess next time I'll just have to do my homework before I go :P
