Hey shiny f-list!

Name's Li, 21, go to university in California and graduating this year (*pumps fist*) with Fashion Design and Japanese double major. I'm originally from the South Bay.

My senior thesis (6-garment line, fashion show in April) is eating my brain. That and Supernatural is just about all I have room for in my consciousness these days, lol.

I read fic. I like 'em drrtyHOT or longnAngsty, and write accordingly. I also dabble in making icons as of oh, a week or two ago. But they're good ones! *points to design major* I swear. Ha. Everything's in my memories, btw.

Random stuff: I plan on winding up in the video game industry, it's my passion :P though an internship in an NYC fashion house won't go amiss (how they are related, I don't know). I speak Mandarin, French, and Japanese (in order of sucky to suckier). I am currently single and have thus been sort of randy as of late (hahaha, tmi?). I love to go clubbing but my idea of a good time is being a burrito and watching TV series. Am currently watching Supernatural, the Office, Grey's Anatomy, Studio 60, Ugly Betty, Prison Break, and catching up on Veronica Mars season 1.

Oh wait, before I go. I cannot for the LIFE of me locate a torrent for yesterday's SPN episode. So if anybody feels like giving me a link for it (or the entire episode >.>) I will name my firstborn after you.

*waves* You speak three other languages? Cool. I'm jealous, I can barely speak a handful of Spanish and that's about it. Wish I knew another language.

Wow, fashion design? That is seriously cool. And fashion+video games= Character design? Everything now has links you know, even those two. It would be so cool to end up in the games industry, and I will be really impressed if you really end up there

Yeah, I'm thinking concept design might be my only way in, even though I've interned at a concept art studio and they're SO fine arts. And I couldn't draw an alien to save my life. Ah, well, we'll see :D

I know what you mean with the fine arts, seriously, made me think of burning my drawings after seeing them.

Aliens are actually hard to draw, it fathoms me how creative those folks are, but still, you can be like, Tetsuya Nomura, or Yoshitaka Amano or something, and work for Square-Enix *drools*

Yeah my friend suggested Square too. "I mean look at FFX-2!" Of course there are jobs like that out there but honestly, how many people can really make a living off of that @_@ Can you think of how many fangirls (and boys) dream of working at Square with concept design, but don't really know how to draw fine arts? That'd be me. ;_; Lol I'll just hide out in the fashion industry until I get sick of it. Which will probably take all of 3 months from the horror stories I've heard XD

You're not bored? Phew, got me worried there. I usually bore people when I do that, because they care more about other things than video games.

Lol, you're with me on that, because it'd be the best, most greatest thing that will ever happen if someone ever gets in there *sighs*

But then, the video games industry has it's setbacks, I mean, you'll have no life, really, if you're working your way up, a lot of work and a lot of stress. Maybe a smaller studio? I mean, look at Clover Studios, I didn't know anything about them until they made Okami and it is seriously one of the best looking game on the PS2. Still, have to think a lot before diving in that pool...

Fashion industry moves fast. It is really scary, like all they said in the movies and stuff?

I don't think I'd mind the gaming industry setbacks all that much, since theoretically I'd be doing what I love :D Of course that's true for my design major, and sometimes I effing HATE it.

And yeah fashion houses can be really hell-ish. Not that I've worked at one yet but old classmates intern-ing in NY say it's just like Devil Wears Prada (the girl I'm thinking of worked at Betsey Johnson), hahaha. Guess everybody's gotta pay their dues :P

Wow, you are so involved in your own life! I'm not sure why that makes sense to me, but it does. But anyway, it sounds like you've got a lot of awesome things going on. Congratulations. :D

I've thought about getting into the video game design realm. Not that I have any idea about that sort of stuff... But I have an art degree moulding at the back of my brain and I need to do something. I'll probably just end up at teachers' college, but whatever. My point is that I've looked into a few specialised post-grad design programmes for game design and development - I don't know if you're up for more school, but if you were, there're definitely a lot of opportunities to learn more and to get additional qualifications.

P.S. I like it drrtyHOT or longnAngsty too, but you probably knew that already. ;)

Lol as of this point, I'm definitely aiming for some job experience before going back to school. And even then I dunno if I wanna pay for grad school :P I'm considering it as a last resort, like if I can't get a decent job I'll hide out in a postgrad program XD
