Right so, I'm going to be in NYC for the weekend, until the 21st. Almost six days of not reading my f-list.

This is my first longish break from LJ since getting in deep fandom waters, and I just have to ask, how do y'all handle being away?? I won't be able to sift through all the backed-up entires and so I'll miss out on fics from my favorite authors, never aware that I'd ever missed a fic or drabble. *bangs head against desk*

So you're not going to have internet access while you're gone? You could always ask everyone for recs when you get back, or ask everyone about anything major they've posted while away. You can also go through individual journals and comms once you get back (rather than having to go back through 200 entries on your f-list :p).

If you have very specific authors that you love, there is this thing where e you track somebody and livejournal sends you an email whenever they posted a new entry. You can also make sure that you only get the email when they post under certain tags (like "fanfiction" or whatever they use).

It's when you are in somebody's post or on somebody's index site the little button that looks like a nail. <img src="http://stat.livejournal.com/img/btn_track.gif" Maybe that can be useful!
