Notes: This started off as one of those dreaded WIPs which I personally avoid like the plague, but you guys perseveared! The continuous support was seriously indispensable, so thanks to everyone who's been following along chapter by chapter. Special thanks to my amazing betas: oxoniensis, a fucking sublime writer who always finds time to nurture others and, by extension, the GK fandom. alethialia, you give the sparkliest, most thoughtful commenty EVER, and you have no idea how much fun you made this whole process for me! I find myself loving the characters more and more with each insight that you give. As for the hawk-like puckling, BABY. You totally deserve showers of gold and rainbows and gosh, at the very least, a bomb-ass brunch on me when we finally get together :D Thanks for getting into this fic with a sledgehammer, because without it I'd be posting a sub-par product, so thank you thank you and rosy kisses.
Summary: 1888, Reno, NV. Sheriff Brad Colbert used to get along just fine...that is, until a morning shootout broke out in his town leaving three men dead. A babyfaced stranger by the name of Fick rolls in around the same time, and Brad ain't convinced the two events aren't related.

I read this on a train journey, and it made the time pass so quickly! It was entertaining in the best sense of the word. Something about how it was written made me see it as a movie unfolding in front of me--perhaps it was a combination of the present tense and all the great description. The sexual tension is just delicious--this is the hottest GK story I've read in a long time.

I soon got addicted, and decided to go to work on the bus so i could read more! It is magnificent.

I think your writing style is lovely - fluid and with a perfect balance of detail and activity. I never felt jarred by word choices or rhythm changes, and loved the humour.

And yes, most erotic blowjob I've read for a long, looonnng time, with artful set-up and believable unawareness for Brad. Even though you're in Brad's headspace the denial/longing and the surprise are both there when he actually leans forward (though we might be cheating by rooting for it to happen). And then the bus arrived! And I had to save the rest for the trip home...

I can't wait to read the second step. I notice you haven't finished it (20 parts?!), and I confess I hate getting stuck in WIPs, so I might have to wait. But I loved the characters so much, maybe not...

Yes I try to avoid the kinkmeme wips, tho I fell for a couple when I first started reading (hadn't read a kinkmeme before so it was a bit of a revelation!).

I'm trying to ration myself over your 2nd step, but I'm going to reach the end at some point, so it's great news that you're working on it and that it's approaching the end.

It's a fabulous story - the western setting works so well with the law enforcement theme, and although I only know GK from reading it, I recognise the elements you've sneaked in there. Also your Nate is fantastic - I think it's a hard job to make him resist believably but you've nailed it. (I've just read the wanking scene, and it was ace.) And Brad just lifts off the page fully formed, dependable and gorgeous.
