Hey guys! How was everyone's first full week of 2010? TBH mine's been pretty shitty, what with being sick and having weird (but benign, don't worry) roommate and bf issues. I think mainly, I'm just being hormonal :P

I'm actually getting out this week's Round-Up on time!! Be proud. I had to ditch the bf in order to have this free time, haha. Going to a Passion Pit concert this evening with friends though. I hope they sound better than the last time I saw them :O

Trend of the week: MODERN TIMES. Whether as professors, ski bunnies, or the tried and true AU of uni!roommates, the boys are assuming new occupations quicker than you can say "Flight Attendant Barbie".

Summary: Arthur/Merlin, professors!AU, first time. Merlin characters as professors
Notes: Modern AUs are popular for a reason--they're so much fun! Arthur's dorkalicious and Merlin's suitably adorable. They're both a little bit dense, and that's how I like my boys best <3

Love, Toast, and Post-It Notes on camelotsolstice (PG-13, 7k)
Summary: Arthur/Merlin, uni!AU, crack. It was love at first sight, and Merlin knew it - when it came to the flat, that was. Merlin wasn't anything like as clear about the man he was going to have to live with.
Notes: Oh man, so much love for this. The fic is full of personality, all bantery and snark through cleverly used post-its. There's serious passive-aggressive romancing in here, and it's SO FUN to watch unfold *___*

Hold Out Your Hands by shantirosa (R, ~3k)
Summary: Arthur/Merlin, future!fic, angst. Merlin is starting to break under the weight of his secrets. Arthur isn't going to let that happen.
Notes: Basically an Arthur Finds Out fic, just up to the point where he actually finds out about Merlin's magic. This story is dark, intense, and gorgeous, with an obsessive air to the whole thing as Arthur tries to break down Merlin's guard. And don't let the "angst" tag deter you--the ending isn't UNhappy, it's just open-ended :)

Holiday Fairytale by lickingbeads (R, ~3k)
Summary: Arthur/Merlin, modern!AU, jealousy. Arthur and Merlin are roommates-turned-BFFs, and for the holidays Arthur and Morgana are taking Merlin to the Swiss Alps.
Notes: Yet another story where the boys are just so, damned, CUTE. The story's largely told from Arthur's POV, so Merlin's inscrutable while Arthur just gets jealous and possessive over Will, who they meet on the slopes. A short and satisfying and yeah--CUTE.

I've always adored your recs (they're always filled with goodness from all corners of Merlin fandom, and I have been using them ever since I found this comm), and I am in the most un-ready mood EVER (can't sit still, very unlike me, I adore reading fic on my trusty laptop too much), and then you produce THIS, this au!rec, and if I wasn't in the mood, I AM NOW. If only I wasn't tired. xD
