Merlin recs

The One Where Merlin Learns About Giving Head Properly by pforte (NC-17, 1k)
Summary: Arthur/Merlin, deepthroating.
Notes: I think the summary alone is a sufficient recommendation ;)

Smoke Without Fire by toestastegood (NC-17, 28k)
Summary: Arthur/Merlin, Arthur-Finds-Out, future!fic, epic. Merlin's magic is discovered and he is burnt at the stake despite his friends' attempts to save his life. Five years later, Arthur encounters him once more while he and Lancelot visit a prospective bride in a foreign kingdom.
Notes: toestastegood is a brilliant storyteller and makes it onto this rec list like, every other week. Imagine my delight in hearing she'd signed up to do a Big Bang challenge! Smoke Without Fire is everything you really need in a long romance--years of separation, an angst-inducing plot (Arthur is being primed to marry the princess of another nation), and a surprise reunion. Good stuff all around.

There Are Legends by ras_elased (vid)
Summary: Arthur/Merlin, NC-17, epic, angsty!Arthur. The legends say that Arthur died, and he waits in Avalon to be reborn. The legends say that Merlin is immortal, and he lives on, waiting for his king. But what if the legends are wrong?
Notes: I realize this vid has been recced to high heaven and hell, but dammit, HERE IT IS AGAIN. It would appear that everything ras_elased touches turns to gold. So epic it hurts, the narrative is one of the most original I've seen in ages. There's lots of angst and lingering looks--just the way I like my romances.

Summary: Arthur/Merlin, PG-13. Digital and mixed media illustrations.
Notes: Girl's got skills. The watercolors in particular are eye-catchingly impressive.

The Moon by nachte (art)
Summary: Mordred, G. Digital illustration done for the Merlin Tarot Project.
Notes: Another talented artist. I like the polished anime style--great coloring and movement.


RPS recs

Friction by likethesunset (NC-17, 4k)
Summary: Bradley/Colin, angsty!Bradley. Bradley likes to unwind from a hard day of filming by fucking. Colin likes to unwind by sleeping. Complications ensue.
Notes: Cute characterization and the big shot of angst injected halfway through the story is entirely welcome :) It lends a bit of heft to this fluffy/porny one-off.

The One Where Bradley is in Love, and Organs Are Poorly Treated by hmsbacklash (PG-13, 2k)
Summary: Bradley/Colin, angsty!Bradley. Bradley pines while Colin's away.
Notes: This is becoming quite the genre, isn't it? I always find it interesting how fandoms often adopt their own canon for actors' personalities XD There's been a big showing of neurotic!Bradley paired with cool-as-a-cucumber!Colin. I won't complain though, it's a really cute dynamic!

How to Woo Your Co-Star in Five Songs or Less by chibirhm (PG-13, ~5k)
Summary: Bradley/Colin, angsty!Bradley. In which Bradley attempts to become indie, if only he knew what indie was.
Notes: See above two fics. This trio of RPS might all come from different authors, but they're kindred spirits!

On a side-note, I don't think that any of shiyasim's drawings from that post are watercolours. They all looked computer-coloured to me, from my experience with both media. *have looked at them a lot because omg!PRETTY*
